Comings and Goings - Conklin Lumber is now closed. King Kullen will be closing sometime in May. Bank of America is under construction by Walmart. Cheeburger Cheeburger will be opening a location at Airport Plaza in the spring. North Fork Bank is opening a branch at New Highway and Smith Street.

Recent Press - Newsday should be running a story in the coming weeks in the Sunday Edition and online. Check www.newsday.com/watchdog for when it does.

Stew Leonard's - Many of you may have noticed the steel being rmoved from the proposed site. It will be used at the Orange, Connecticut location. They are still committed to East Farmingdale. We hope to host another public information meeting as construction start gets closer. There also may be changes to the original plans.

Sex Offenders - About every month notices are sent to parents of children in the Farmingdale School system about convicted sex offenders either living or working in the neighborhood. You may find out more information by selecting one of the Sex Offender & Child Safety Links on our links page.

Michel Park - Again, the town is reluctant to speak to us about Michel Park. Promises have been made by the town, only to be broken. If you are not happy with the town, please let them know. Make phone calls, send letters, and email the town. Tell them you want them to do what they promised.

East Farmingdale Recreational Council - Becuase the otwn has not been forthcoming with us, the plan to start our recreational program this year has been delayed. Once we begin, activities will vary depending on the number of participants. Everyone is welcome to take part in all the activities. More information to come as it becomes available.

At The Movies - In a recent Newsday article... Adventureland is a movie that is about a native Long Islander/college grad compelled to spend the summer of 1987 working at a theme park. Inspired by the real-life theme park, Adventureland in Farmingdale.

East Farmingdale Logo - In conjunction with the Woodland Civic Association, we are working on designing a logo to represent East Farmingdale. This logo will be used on Welcome signs that are planned for the community. Some of the ideas can be viewed on this page.
